Providing High Quality Veterinary Care to Golf Illinois Pets.
Terry Animal Hospital is one of the few animal hospitals offering pet acupuncture in the Golf Illinois area. Acupuncture is a treatment method used in conjunction to traditional veterinary medicine. For more than 3,000 years acupuncture has been used as a means of stimulating specific points on the body to release neurotransmitters such as beta-endorphins and serotonin. Acupuncture has been found to reduce pain associated with hip dysplasia, ligament injuries and arthritic conditions. Can also reduce seizure duration and frequency and lessen effects of allergies. Call or email us today to discuss acupuncture service for your cat, dog, or other pets.
Pet Acupuncture can help treat common health conditions such as:
- Pain & Inflammation
- Impaired Mobility
- Orthopedic Concerns
- Skin Conditions
- Inter-vertebral Disc Pathology
Most of the time the acupuncture needles are left in place for a matter of seconds upwards of 30 minutes depending on the treatment goals.
Side effects are not common, and are generally mild but can include:
- Possible bruising or bleeding at the site of the treatment points
