Preventative Care & Wellness

Wellness Exams and Preventative Care are the cornerstones of any animal’s good health. Wellness visits include a complete physical exam, parasite screening, appropriate vacines, blood tests, urine analysis, and screening x-rays when indicated. This is also when we establish a baseline for your pet’s health and make plans for care going forward.

Dental Care

Terry Animal Hospital stresses the importance of dental care for any animal!  Our dental examinations focus on identifying and preventing gingivitis and periodontal disease and recommending dental prophylaxis when needed.

Diagnostic Laboratory

Terry Animal Hospital knows waiting for test results an be stressful. Terry Animal Hospital offers, in-house laboratory testing for immediate results along with complete diagnostic capabilities through our full service national reference laboratory. 

Acupuncture

Pet acupuncture has been shown to help with stimulating your pet’s immune system, increasing relaxation of their muscles to prevent joint problems, and promoting healthy blood flow. Call us now to learn more about how pet acupuncture services can help your pet. 

Internal Medicine

Just like in people, pets are susceptible to serious medical conditions which may require more in-depth medical intervention. Our veterinarians are able to diagnose and treat complex disorders, injury and disease. Our team is trained in advanced medical procedures and treating complicated medical conditions.

Treatment of Sick & Injured Animals

Even under the best of care, some pets will experience illnesses or injuries that require immediate attention and care. Although we primarily treat patients on an out-patient basis, we do provide all aspects of intensive and critical care management. If your pet is experiencing illness or injury call us immediately for prompt attention 847-256-1131. 

Ultrasound & X-Ray Service

Terry Animal Hospital provides in-house  ultrasound and digital x-rays for immediate interpretation by our doctors. This will help you and our team make the best decisions about the healthcare your pet needs going forward in providing better and faster care!

What Animals Do You Treat

Our Veterinarians are available to treat most companion animals, including: dogs, cats, small mammals, small reptiles and birds.

We commonly treat: Gerbils, Guinea Pigs, Ferrrets, Snakes, Lizards, Parrots and more.

Are You Currently Accepting New Patients

We are actively accepting new patients in the form of felines, canines, and exotics. Our Animal Hospital serves animals from Wilmette, Evanston, Northfield, Glenview, Northbrook, Highland Park and surrounding areas. 

Do You Offer Microchipping

Yes, at Terry Animal hospital we highly recommend having your dogs and cats microchipped. Michrochipping can help in the recovery of your pet in the event that they are ever lost or stolen. 

Can You Assist with Unwanted Behaviors

We are happy to offer Pet Behavior Counseling to our pet families. In extreme cases we can refer you to specialists for your particular needs.

Dr. Richard Mattson

Dr. Richard Mattson graduated Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1987 and joined Terry Animal Hospital in 1989. His emphasis is on surgery, dental procedures and ultrasound.

Dr. Julie Mattson

Dr. Julie Mattson graduated from Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1987. Her special interest is internal medicine and all aspects of patient care. She enjoys the long term connections she has with people and their pets. 

Dr. Sarah Blose

Dr. Sarah Blose

Dr. Sarah Blose has been at Terry Animal Hospital since 2009.  She was IVAS certified in Acupuncture in 2002. She and her retired therapy dog Hoss love giving hospital tours to children in the community.

Dr. Caryl Buonopane

Dr. Caryl Buonopane

Dr. Caryl Buonopane joined the practice in May of 2016.  She splits her time working part time at Terry Animal Hospital and caring for her large 4 legged family of dogs, cats and her horse, Dreamer.

Dr. Alison Fink

Dr. Alison Fink

While in school at North Park University, Dr. Alison Fink worked at Veterinary Specialty Center and is interested in internal medicine, cardiology and dermatology.
